Trusting God in the Cold Moments
Ecclesiastes 3:1 | Hebrews 13:8 | Galatians 6:9
You can feel it in the air. The mornings are a bit crisp now, the sun is going down a little earlier, and the kids are arguing about where their jackets went. Fall is here, and winter isn’t far behind.
Something about changing seasons always makes me reflective. Maybe it’s the leaves letting go or the quiet that comes when the rush of summer finally settles. But I’ve realized this... life moves in seasons too.
There are moments when everything feels alive. Dreams are blooming, relationships thriving, faith vibrant. And then, there are times when it feels like the air goes cold and everything slows down. You pray and don’t feel much. You work hard but don’t see the fruit. You wonder, “What’s happening, God?”
But here’s the truth I’ve been clinging to... just because the season changes doesn’t mean God does.
The same God who painted your summer skies is still faithful in your winter nights. Ecclesiastes reminds us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Sometimes God allows a winter to prepare us for the next spring. The roots go deeper when the ground gets hard. Growth doesn’t stop just because it’s not visible.
So maybe you’re in a “cold” season right now... emotionally, spiritually, or even financially. Let the changing air remind you that God is still working under the surface.
You don’t have to rush through this season. You just have to walk with Him in it.
And the best part? Spring always comes again.
